New at Micfo.com

Well just wanted to introduce myself. I am LCPL Davis (kangy) and run the site www. kancof.com

I have just signed up for micfo hosting after a rather horrible experience with gisol. I am working on transfering my site over right now. but due to my slow dialup it is taking a while, (they havn't set up our highspeed in my barracks yet but I should have my cable internet hooked up soon) But as soon as the site is transfered and the DNS goes through it should be up after I work out a few standard glitches from the transfer.

Welcome to Micfo Kangy, sorry to hear you had a horrible experience elsewhere, I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay here at Micfo. Where are you stationed?

Thomas, I am stationed in Okinawa, JP. My unit just returned from korea with my site in shambles due to gisol having nearly no support or what seems to be a lack of care for their customers. My site was down for 5 days, it would load up everyonce in a while but out of the blue it would just stop responding, it wasn't because of my location because some of the members that live in the US were emailing me saying they couldn't get to it either, there "tech" response was "they didn't know why and it must be on my end"

Well that is enough bad about them, i don't want to even remember being with them.

I had one question for the Micfo staff though, due to my being on dialup and non sure when my highspeed should be hooked up (hopefully sometime this week) The site transfer is not going well at all. Is there any service or some sort of way to transfer my site without having to d/l from my current host then re-upload to your hosting? If necessary I will give my gisol ftp information to someone that could help me out. I have a few subdomain sites but those are just a couple member sites that I can do later what I am really focused on right now is my main site getting at least the files up so I can get it configed for your server.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks and Take Care,
LCPL Davis

Does your other host have cpanel? Micfo can sometimes install it for you then.

Open a support ticket, as Reed said if the other host used cpanel the site can usually be transfered. If for some odd reason they can't help (although I'm sure they can) let me know, at work I have a 6Mbps connection and can do the xfer for you.
You must be glad to be back in Okinawa, hope you didn't have DMZ duty in Korea.

Nope my other host doesn't have cpanel they have some other homemade control panel. I am going to open a support ticket to see how that goes but I will let you know.

And yes boy am I glad to be back in okinawa, we weren't at the DMZ but we were pretty close we were at pyontek doing some joint intel operations, pretty much it was just war games to simulate an attack from the north.

Take Care,
LCPL Davis

Well, you could find a friend who has high speed and have him/her do it for you.
