Can't create FTP accounts

Since the recent change that removed the main FTP accounts from my sites, I have been unable to create any new FTP accounts. I can go through the steps in Cpanel with no errors and it tells me it successfully created the account, but when I go back to the list of accounts the new one isn't there and wasn't actually created. Anyone else having this problem? I am unable to use my FTP client to update my sites which is very frustrating. I submitted a help ticket, but they said for me to use the online chat help to create an FTP account -- but I already know how to do that, it just doesn't work!

I don't use standard FTP much anyway... I try not to send passwords over the network in the clear which give access to my sites... I use sftp or scp...

Anyway, I created a new ftp account on one of my shared accounts with out any issues... Have you exceeded the total number of allowed ftp accounts?

Well, something changed because I just repeated what I tried a few days ago and it worked fine.

Thanks for your reply :^)

May be you must have changed your FTP password well, you can always amend them using your control panel, try your luck !!!

If that is the main account then yes it would. Also if you have to many ftp failures in a short amount of time (any type of login failure) the firewall on the system may trigger and block the IP as a possible breakin attempt. I would get a hold of live chat support and they can help you with the problem. The FTP client would not matter.. --Mitch
