Reseller

I'm actually quite impressed with your whole hosting service, it's a lot better than my current one.

What I would like to know is... I'm looking at buying the MG Mini plan, what do I know before getting this package? I've never done anything like selling hosting before and so I'm not really sure what to expect. Do I need any knowledge of networking, or is it OK for someone with not much knowledge in the reselling/networking field to sell web hosting?

Also, in stead of paying monthly, could I pay a yearly fee?

Hello Jay,

First of all let me thank you for your kind comments. We are pleased to hear your satisfaction!

Use of Micfo.com's reseller service requires a certain level of knowledge in the use of Internet languages, protocols, and software. This level of knowledge varies depending on the anticipated use and desired content of Client's web space by the Client. The following examples are offered:

- Web Publishing: requires knowledge of HTML, properly locating and linking documents, FTPing Web contents, Graphics, text, sound, image mapping, etc.

- FrontPage web publishing: knowledge of the FrontPage tools as well as Telnet and FTP understanding and capability. CGI-Scripts requires a knowledge of the UNIX environment, TAR & GUNZIP commands, Perl, CShell scripts, permissions, etc.

- Auto-responders: a knowledge of Procmail auto-responder features, forwarding mail, use of mail clients to receive and send mail, etc.

These are required since Micfo.com does not provide technical support to your customers. On other hand we can get your customer's issues resolved, however you need to submit a ticket manuelly. Your customers should NOT contact us directly under no circumstances.

Also for web hosting reselling, you require a merchant account (credit card processing system) or a 3rd party merchant services such as PayPal.com, 2checkout.com along with a client management system. Neither of these are provided free of charge.

As far as payment terms are concerned, currently we only accept monthly payments from the resellers. On shared hosting plans you have the option to pay monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, annually or 2-year service plan.

I hope this answers your questions and concerns. Please feel free to post any other question that you may have.

Also, I was thinking of buying the MG Super package and hosting a friend on that for free so I get a little more used to the hosting sides of things. If I buy that and pay for a whole year, does it work out as about £43 per year?

I did email someone about but I cannot login to Gmail at the moment.
