Need help for Web Design

I’m a database manager in a company. My gf asked me create a website for her. Web design is something I don’t know but she thinks I’m an expert in computer field and it’s an easy job for me. I can’t let me be down! I’m just looking around the web for some presets. Can you help me?

Wordpress will be more easy to use either as CMS or a Blog, you can get easily many good tutorials for designing and ready theme for wordpress.
