Post What firewall is better to install?

My firewall that comes with my windows xp slows down my computer. What will be a better one firewall I can download and use for free?

I use ZoneAlarm's free edition, and that's good. McAfee's is probably one to stay away from for being slow if the anti-virus is anything to go by. Can't recommend much beyond that, though, because I've not used anything else for ages.

Also, interesting spammy hyperlink on that fullstop

Windows XP SP2 built in firewall should work just fine, or you can try Sygate Personal Firewall

I'd say Outpost Pro, it's really easy to use, comes with a bunch of cool features, isn't a resource hog, it's easy to use with a nice friendly interface, take a look www.agnitum.com/products/outpost/

I still use Sygate Pro, it's the best firewall I have used and cannot bring myself to change it despite it's not being sold any more.

Comodo has a free firewall and Antivirus as well.

Yep! I have heard lot about Comodo but after giving it a try I would suggest to go with Zone Alarm; that's what I am using right now. And I think it is more than enough to secure your PC. The latest version is a great combination of Firewall+AntiVirus+AntiSpy !
