Question Strip html tags in feedback form

Hi All,

I'm trying to setup the feedback form so that any html comments are stripped and I receive clean plan text feedback. I'm trying to deal with spam. I'm not so keen on the 'Captcha' thinggy.

Thanks.

Wow, this got a little buried in spam!

Code:
$body = preg_replace("/<[^>]+>/", "", $body);
is your easiest way to mass-remove anything that looks remotely like a HTML tag. There might be one or two times when it'll clean something it shouldn't (like someone randomly saying "that will go <so> wrong") but it's a start

If you use php:
PHP Code:
$resultString strip_tags($originalString$opt_allowedTags
does the trick too.

Yes thanks...

The situation was quite bad. The spam was coming in thru the feedback form on my site! :-)

I'm not sure what I tried exactly but it was something like 'IBBoard' suggested. But my solution dint work. It was however possible for me to setup a filter (using cpanel). So now I don't have this problem.

I'm not an expert in php so I asked a friend to help me. He too came up with a similar solution; that too dint work. :-) But I'll try both solutions mentioned here and see how they differ in function.

Thanks drachma and IBBoard. Sorry for the late reply; I've been busy with a lot of things.
