Maybe the type of ad to use depends on your site. Some sites might do best with blending ads with no borders, other sites might do well with ads that contrast.
I don't think you can come up with an all powerful ad format.

I agree Bill, however there might be some enhancements that you could to that tend to benefit multiple sites on a whole. I think it would be interesting to find out what other people are using and if changing the ads helps them at all.

Yes, that's true. I'm sure there's some things that are mostly global for increasing revenues.
