FREE: Thousands of Backlinks and Exposure for your Website

Very recently, I joined a Free Co-op Ad Network to promote one of my sites. I put a few small text link ads on my webpages and in return my ads are displayed on other member's web pages. The great thing about this was that my ads were direct links to my site and not encoded links thus increasing my number of backlinks in search engines.

I didn't check it out because I have no need of it right now, but it does sound cool from your description. Especially since it's just text links instead of homebrew gif files
