With a shared SSL you would get encryption but 100% (and I use that very loosely) verification of site would not be there. It would also depend on how you are working payments. If you are going to use 3rd partly handling of CC's like paypal, google cash, etc, then that might work for you since you will not be handling any of that data. If you are planning on doing CC processing on your own, then running the site off a shared server is not even a good idea. --Mitch

Well, if you are planning to host an E-commerce website and you will have online transactions on your website, I would suggest you to consider a dedicated SSL certificate as it will ensure better protection and security which is always important when it comes an E-commerce website.
All the best!! |

Dedicated SSL again!!
Yes, you must consider Dedicated SSL for an e-commerce site. It will give an encrypted page with the trust logo. The logo would definitely help you to get genuine customers. It would also help in long-term relationship with your clients. |

Also, if you choose a shared SSL certificate and it's verified, the information displayed will be of the hosting provider and not yours :(
Whereas, if you consider a dedicated SSL certificate and it's verified, the information and details would be of your own company which will affect the trust level of the visitor in a positive manner

People are getting smart about online security. More and more of them are looking for the padlock icon and “https” prefix in the address bar of their browser before submitting personal information online. If your Web site doesn’t have an SSL Certificate, visitors may leave before making a purchase, creating an account or even signing up for a newsletter. But you can change all that with an SSL from ClickSSL.com.
