IMO it is a good opportunity for people all across the Globe with new domain extensions coming as it gives every single person the freedom of his choice if required. However I'm not sure on .tel as we'll have to see how much and what kind of response does it get from the public.

Yup, also it will be easier to provide contact address through mobile device, you'll just need to send the SMS with the link of your .tel site to your contacts.

.Tel domains have great advantage over normal domains. you dont have to waste money on constructing website,you get a holding page for free.

I don't think that such holding page can help to improve the results for your website without working on the construction part of it.

I heard it is used for VOIP. Is that correct?

Well, .tel domains will only allow you to keep some contact information on the web page and you do not have to work on the construction part of it

You will only get a web page if you register a .tel domain and you will only be allowed to keep some contact information on the web page

Yes, I have heard that these domains are used for VOIP but not too sure why it is so

The tel is a service which allows individuals and businesses to store and manage all their contact information and keywords directly in the DNS without the need to build, host or manage a website.
In any other TLDs, the DNS only provides a mapping between domain names and IP addresses.Whereas in .tel domain offers the ability to host personal or corporate contact information directly in the DNS, which can then be universally accessible. Yes, I think this seems to be like an Online Business Card. You can search for .tel domains on google and you can find sample .tel domains there.

This new concept is a very good one keeping in mind that Internet is continuously growing at a very rapid rate

This will simplify the problem of getting contact information about someone or a company

However, I think this would cause problems for some companies and individuals in future with common names

If there are advantages of .tel domains, I think there can be disadvantages as well. The personal information can be used to harass also. Many people doing fraud online might misuse the data. Not sure about the security aspects of .tel domains
