sinvida.net

My website is almost 1 years old but the community in it is almost 3 years.
Its just a small online gaming community that we started in a MMORPG called Dark Age of Camelot and we are slowly branching out to other games.

I recently moved to micfo as my new webhost and am enjoying the services so far since day 1.

I just do some of this webworks as a hobby for me.
Something to teach myself via trial and error and doing pretty well in my opinion.
Not having any formal training and schooling in web design and stuff (learned everything via webmonkey.com and various other websites)

I am currently focusing on learning more about PhP-Nuke and its mods and trying to learn how to use adobe photoshop and flash.

SO my website is http://sinvida.net
Its a PhP-Nuke site w/ some mods integrated in it and more mods to be put in as time permits.
I am currently also trying to make the look of the site a lil better, hopefully when I get enough time to do so.
(I am also trying to figure out how to make PhP-Nuke themes w/ forum themes as well)
SO any suggestions/comments and stuff on how to improve my website is greatly appreciated

PS: The flash intro and the site banner is created by a member of my game community not me.
I still need to learn how to do stuff like it.

Hello Kilim,

A nice hobby site. Well done.

Now the good news for you is that we have Fantastico available for all the clients, loaded with 19 free PHP based scripts, including PHP-Nuke.

You want to have a look into your Cpanel control panel.

Good luck!

Why? For people using plam pilots?

I don't see how text versions of the site would benefit... there isn't much of anything on there that needs to be in text or could really be put into text only, other than the news.

A text version of what part of the website? wouldn't it make it a lot harder to read and find information than with the cool graphically designed template?

Hmm ok... I'd have to see a sample of what you are talking about to see if it would be a good idea or not.

Not the best example but it will do..

Graphics version

http://www-2.cs.cmu.edu/afs/cs/proje...ml/vision.html

Text version

http://www-2.cs.cmu.edu/afs/cs/proje...txtvision.html

What it would be is a PHP nuke theme that wouldn't have graphics but would still have all the features.

Yeah, that wasn't a very good example, the graphics version barely has graphics in the first place.

Ok, so, what's the point of a text version again? For quicker load times?

The only reason that text would be good would be for printing purposes. Like forums and other things do, the text version puts it in a nice printing format.

I guess...although IIRC my color carts are as expensive as my black carts for my printer, so I don't care what version a site is in.
