Links don't work in my website?

hey all, this is my bi-annual question that probably won't be answered., but here goes.

after being down for 6 months, i uploaded my site again on Front Page. on the preview everything worked. but when i uploaded it, all my links are dead. i have gone back and forth 10 times trying several things but no workee. i will admit creating the graphics and insert box's in a template from Publicator---of Office 2007. i don't see how this could be the culprit cause like i say, it worked in the website previewer of FP.

are there any Front Pagers left out there? i was hoping years ago to get away from this demon FP but can't shake it.........thx for the help! jw

oops---here's my site---jwweir.com

Ok, first, I am not a FP person.. to that I am not a fan of MS at all.. I looked at the web page and it looks like you built it based on several images? The links are in the code, but I am not sure the actually are linked to anything. If you really want to get away from FP, you might try a program called CoffeeCup. www.coffeecup.com I have been using it for years. You can check out www.thrcc.org as one of the sites I run with CoffeeCup. The hardest part about using FP to manage the site is the code it produces is really bad to maintain and MS puts a lot of "magic" behind the code. I will try to take a look at the code source and see if I can help... If you want to try CoffeeCup, they have a free 30 day trial and if you decide to buy, you can get a 20% discount by using the checkout code in my sig here. Couple other things I like about coffeecup is it's low price and once you buy it you get updates for the life of the program.... You are not charged every time a new version comes out... Will get back to ya...

Hehe... Yea I *recommend* it whenever I can.. (I don't get any kickbacks or anything from CoffeeCup accept the satisfaction that someone else is breaking free from the M$ hold ) It does have a WYSIWYG editor built into the HTML Editor product but there is also another product they call Visual Site Designer. I have tested the latest beta and for a WYSIWYG it is not bad... Might give that a try...

I'm not really sure what is going on with FP, but from the code, the areas where the links are suppose to be are gif images. Not sure it is was suppose to be doing some image mapping or what. Will dig a little more to see what I can find for ya. --Mitch

doing good, i survived IKE! power off for 3 days. lot's of folks in the greater houston area without power still. lot's of tree's on power lines and roofs. i feel very fortunate to have power this quick. actually i worry about it going off a lot as it teased us going on and off the last day it came on steady.

except for the last few days of this cool front we have now, houston is usually quite steamy through October and not bearable without the air conditioner. i did not hardly sleep at all because of the humidity. all hotels were booked unless we wanted to travel great distances to Austin,Dallas or San Antone.

anyway---hope to have time to resume my website. stay tuna, i have quiestions for you. thanks---jw

It's the way you designed the site. This is a well known drawback of using frame based websites and means that people cannot bookmark your pages properly.

I think you should minimize the size of the image which will reduce the loading time of your site.
