Feedback from server migrations

Hello All,

We would like to gain some feedback from you, our customers, on the way server migrations have been handled.

To date, there have been 13 server migrations over a period of two months. The server migrations were done because the old servers were starting to have degraded performance and some customers had started to notice this. The new servers are all based on the following configuration:

Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600
8 GB RAM
Hardware Raid 1, 5 and 10 (dependent on server)

Since the migration, has any performance increase been noticed?

Are your websites loading faster?

Has there been less downtime?

Are you unhappy at the notice given?

Any questions/suggestions/compliments/complaints are welcome.

I think the migration to better servers is great. But some better communication could be put into place. When you say a server is going to be migrated on the 15, then is should be done.. OR a notice should go out as to why it is delayed and when it will happen. Waiting for a day or two for a customer to ask what is going on and then saying it is still going to happen is not good. I give my users notice and it makes me look bad when I say the server is going to be upgraded on such-an-such a date... then it does not happen... and all of a sudden 2,3,4 days later the server goes down and I have users screaming at me....

Performance wise, I have seen a great improvement in the servers after the migration!

See-ya

I would have to agree there. I thought we solved the poor communication problems in December but it would seem the Christmas break caused some people to forget

I'm glad you like the new servers.
